Developing a methodology for more detailed freshwater invertebrate investigations

A number of ARMI groups have specified an interest in being able to undertake species level invertebrate surveys, in addition to ARMI monitoring, to effect positive change in freshwater and terrestrial management practices. The Riverfly Partnership are actively working with Dr Cyril Bennett, head of the Salisbury and District Angling Club (S&DAC) Centre for Riverfly Conservation, on this front and a further update is expected towards the end of this year. Dr Bennett, in conjunction with Aquascience, the EA, local angling clubs and landowners, is conducting a 12 month study to develop a species level invertebrate initiative; click this link to read more from the Centre for Riverfly Conservation.
