Dai Roberts was a force of nature and will be greatly missed

It is with great sadness that we tell you that Dai Roberts, a long term member of the Riverfly Partnership, member of the River’s Trust, and keen fisherman, has passed away.  He was a great advocate for improving  the quality of Rivers in South Wales, and set up and coordinated the first pilot Riverfly Project in Wales on the River Rhymney which trained volunteers to monitor invertebrates as a means to identify changes in water quality and report incidents to Natural Resources Wales. This was expanded to cover all rivers in Wales.  He attended many biodiversity events, meetings and trained up many individuals and groups over the years.  A larger than life character who will be greatly missed.
