BBC Landward features Riverfly Monitoring

Riverfly Monitoring in Scotland

BBC Landward feature Riverfly Trainer and Buglife Conservation Officer, Rebecca Lewis, talking about the Buglife project Guardian of our Rivers. The project has been going for a year and Rebecca has delivered Riverfly Monitoring Initiative training to 28 groups across Scotland, she has been very busy indeed! All the groups sample and feed their data into our UK wide database on Cartographer. This lovely piece from the BBC shows the Riverfly on the Esk group carrying out their sampling and sorting, on what looks to be a glorious summer day.

Anyone can take part in Riverfly monitoring, no special skills or prior knowledge is needed, get in touch with us and we’ll ‘match make’ you with the nearest hub offering training. Please email info@riverflies.org

Or if you’re in Scotland get in touch directly with Rebecca via Rebecca.Lewis@buglife.org.uk
