New crayfish guidance

When you’re out Riverfly monitoring, you may well come across crayfish — the native or non-native species. Vanessa Barlow, the Crayfish Stakeholder Officer at Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, has kindly written up some new guidance for Riverfly monitors in England and Wales on what to do if you find crayfish during your surveys. Please read the guidance here.

Many thanks to Vanessa for putting this together for us. To learn more about the work being done with crayfish in Yorkshire, see the North Yorkshire Crayfish Forum site.

Please note that this guidance is based on the government guidance for England and Wales. Please see here for the current rules in Scotland and here for guidance in Northern Ireland.
